INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the fifth issue of SALFORD M3.

This issue looks at the major changes happening on Chapel Street. We have tried to give a brief overview of its history, the present and the future.

Our local schools continue to thrive, just take a look at some of the many projects they have been working on.

Local residents groups continue to grow and work together, building a real community.

We also look at the new businesses in the area, employing local people, and we wish them well in the future.

SALFORD M3 magazine is written by local residents and volunteers, and is completely independent.

Because we do not have a free local weekly newspaper, getting information circulated here has always been difficult. We hope that the latest issue of this magazine continues to fill the gap in communication.

We hope you enjoy this issue of the magazine and hope you’ll get involved to produce the next one.

Kevin O’Neill and Joyce Withers, Co-editors

SALFORD M3 magazine is produced by a group of residents and volunteers, especially for the Trinity, Islington, Blackfriars and Greengate districts of Salford. These districts make up the M3 postcode.

Because we do not have a free local weekly newspaper, getting information circulated here has always been difficult. We hope that the latest issue of this magazine continues to fill the gap in communication.

Please take at look  at our Contributors and Advertising  pages on how you can help.
